This product is available in three finishes: bright polished copper, antiqued (patina) copper and bronzed.
To some people, the bright polished finish is more appealing. After assembly, these weathervane figures are placed on buffers to give them luster and shine. If you desire to keep the polished finish looking new, we recommend applying a coat of clear lacquer or polyurethane. The polished weathervanes are not treated in the factory so they will start to naturally tarnish. At first, the finish will darken, like an old copper penny. Then, after several years, the surface will begin to bloom with a beautiful natural green/blue patina.
The antiqued copper has an artificial finish applied in the factory to give the weathervane the appearance of many years of elemental exposure. To obtain the charming antiqued finish, a special green/blue patina is applied to the high-quality copper material. It is a long lasting maintenance free finish that will look like an antique right from the start.
The bronzed finish is also applied in the factory. If you like the look of bronze, this is somewhat of a DaVinci influenced finish to this beautiful horse and will be a remarkable addition to your property. To obtain the stately bronzed finish, a special layer is applied to the high-quality copper material. A long lasting maintenance free finish you can enjoy for many years to come.
